Fresh, quick to serve and ready to consume, it is the alternative to gazpacho for those seeking a light dish without firing up the kitchen.<\/p>\n<p><!-- BREAK 1 --> <\/p>\n<div class=\"ad ad-lat\">\n<div class=\"ad-box\" id=\"div-gpt-lat\">\n  <\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The OCU has analysed 30 refrigerated salmorejos, and the verdict is clear: store brands outshine premium options.<\/p>\n<h3>Who leads the rankings?<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Hacendado, Mercadona&#8217;s brand<\/strong>, tops the list with 70 points and a rating of good quality, making it the best-valued product in the analysis. Very close are two references from <strong>Alvalle<\/strong>, each with 69 points and also distinguished as good quality. The leading group is completed by <strong>La Huerta de Don Sim\u00f3n<\/strong>, reaching 68 points.<\/p>\n<p><!-- BREAK 2 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"article-asset article-asset-normal article-asset-center\">\n<\/div>\n<p>According to the OCU, the best-valued products share one trait: they stick to the traditional recipe and avoid ingredients such as red pepper, onion, or vinegar, which disrupt the classic salmorejo profile. All of them offer a creamy texture and a balanced flavour, and several rank among the study&#8217;s best value-for-money options.<\/p>\n<p><!-- BREAK 3 -->  <\/p>\n<div class=\"ad ad-out\">\n<div class=\"ad-box\" id=\"div-gpt-out\">\n  <\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"article-asset-image article-asset-normal article-asset-center\">\n<\/div>\n<p>Moreover, some of the best-rated varieties cost around <strong>\u20ac3 per litre<\/strong>, while considerably more expensive options do not achieve a similar score in tasting. Paying more does not guarantee better taste.<\/p>\n<p><!-- BREAK 4 --><\/p>\n<p>And at the bottom of the rankings?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Santa Teresa<\/strong>, with its Raf tomato version, closes the classification with 47 points. They are followed by <strong>DIA Al Punto<\/strong> (48), <strong>Lidl Chef Select<\/strong> and <strong>Froiz Raf<\/strong>, each with 49 points. In fact, according to Infobae, 23 of the 30 salmorejos analyzed failed the tasting. The cheapest salmorejo in the analysis is <strong>Eroski<\/strong>, at <strong>\u20ac2.11 per litre<\/strong>, while the most expensive is Santa Teresa Raf, reaching a remarkable <strong>\u20ac8.16 per litre<\/strong>, according to Diario Vasco. The organization highlights a detail to consider when filling the cart: the <strong>brik<\/strong> format often offers a better value-for-money than clear glass bottles.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nutrition in its favor.<\/strong> On the nutritional front, there are hardly any meaningful differences among brands. All the salmorejos analyzed earn a good or very good rating thanks to a composition based on tomato, olive oil, garlic, and bread, with a general absence of additives. Their caloric contribution is even lower than many homemade recipes due to using less bread and, in some cases, less oil.<\/p>\n<p><!-- BREAK 8 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"article-asset-image article-asset-normal article-asset-center\">\n<\/div>\n<p>As they are made with peeled and filtered tomatoes, these products typically contain less fiber than a homemade salmorejo. But in return, the OCU does not detect industrial ingredients in any of the 30 references analyzed. They are by no means ultra-processed foods, according to Cr\u00f3nica Global.<\/p>\n<p><!-- BREAK 9 --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Labeling could improve.<\/strong> The organization notes that in some packages there is missing information about the exact percentage of key ingredients, or even a clear way to contact the manufacturer.
